| 1. | This installation guide begins upon the completion of installing the Windows 98 SE operating system. Follow this installation guide to update the Integrated Creative SB128 Sound Device (Onboard) |
| 2. | [Insert] the Millennia GS Driver CD that was provided with your computer into the CD-ROM drive and [Close] any windows that appear due to CD insertion. |
| 3. | [Click] the Start button. |
| 4. | [Click] Settings. |
| 5. | [Click] Control Panel. |
| 6. | [Double-Click] the System icon within the Control Panel window. |
| 7. | [Select] the Device Manager tab within the System Properties window. |
| 8. | [Select] the entry PCI Multimedia Audio Device to highlight it. |
| 9. | [Click] the Properties button. |
| 10. | [Select] the Driver tab from within the PCI Multimedia Audio Device Properties window. |
| 11. | [Click] the Update Driver... button. |
| 12. | [Click] the Next button to begin the search for the updated driver. |
| 13. | [Select] the option Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now, (Recommended), and [Click] Next. |
| 14. | [Select] the option to Specify a location and [Type] the following path: CD:\Creative\Audio\English\Win9xdrv (where "CD:\" represents the actual CD-ROM drive letter). |
| 15. | [Click] the Next button. |
| 16. | [Select] the option The Updated Driver (Recommended), Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128, and [Click] Next. |
| 17. | [Click] the Next button. |
| 18. | [Click] the Finish button. |
| 19. | [Click] the Close button from the Creative Sound Blaster AudioPCI 128 Properties window. |
| 20. | [Click] the OK button from the System Properties window. |
| 21. | [Close] the Control Panel window and [Restart] the computer to ensure the sound device is working properly. NOTE: the computer speakers should be plugged in and in a powered state. |
| 22. | When reloading the sound after it has been uninstalled, it is recommended that the installation should proceed in the following way. |
| 23. | [Insert] the Millennia GS Driver CD that was provided with your computer into the CD-ROM drive and [Close] any windows that appear due to CD insertion. |
| 24. | [Click] the Start button. |
| 25. | [Select] RUN from the Start Menu. |
| 26. | [Type] the following path in the Open area, CD:\Creative\Setup.exe (where "CD:\" represents the actual CD-ROM drive letter). |
| 27. | Continue the installation using the graphical user interface. At the SBSetup window make sure that "Remove and Install Software" is selected in the Sound Blaster Setup Options window and [Click] Next. |
| 28. | The setup will check for any existing drivers and remove them. After this is complete [Click] Next to install the audio drivers. (This may take a few moments) |
| 29. | When the device detection and driver installation is complete [Click] the Finish button. |
| 30. | [Click] the Yes button to restart the computer allowing the installation to complete. |
