| Installing Memory Modules |
| 1. | You can increase memory on your TransPort ZX notebook computer by installing optional memory modules. |
| 2. | CAUTION: Install only approved memory modules in your notebook computer or system problems may occur. |
| 3. | Before you Install a Memory Module |
| 4. | WARNING! To prevent personal injury or damage to your notebook computer components follow the precautions listed below before installing a memory module. |
| 5. | Prior to removing the memory access panel: |
| 6. | Turn the computer's power off. |
| 7. | Remove the battery pack. |
| 8. | Disconnect all peripheral devices (e.g. printers, external monitors, etc.). |
| 9. | Prior to handling a memory module: |
| 10. | Discharge any static electricity using either a grounding wrist strap or by touching a grounded surface. |
| 11. | DO NOT insert objects with conductive material (e.g. metal screwdrivers, graphite pencils, etc.) into the memory module compartment. |
| 12. | Use caution when handling the metal plate of the memory access panel.

| 13. | Installing a Memory Module |
| 14. | Close the LCD panel, and turn your computer over so that the bottom of the computer faces up. |
| 15. | Using a small phillips screwdriver remove the retention screw that holds the memory access panel in place as illustrated below.

| 16. | Grasp the edge of the memory access panel and remove from chassis. |
| 17. | Remove installed memory modules if necessary:

| 18. | Caution: Pull on the plastic portion of the tab lock mechanism located on both sides of the memory module compartment. DO NOT pull on the metal portion of either tab lock mechanism or damage may occur. |
| 19. | Pull the plastic portion of tab lock mechanism outward slightly, until the edge of the memory module pops up as illustrated below.

| 20. | Carefully hold the memory module by the edges and pull it forward out the memory compartment to remove.
|
| 21. | Align the tabs on the memory module with the tab lock mechanisms located on both sides of the memory module compartment. |
| 22. | Push the memory module into the memory slot at a slight angle until the tab lock mechanisms are fully engaged as illustrated below.

| 23. | Push down on the edge of the memory module until the module snaps into place. |
| 24. | Align the memory access panel with the memory module compartment and push downward until the panel snaps into place. |
| 25. | Reattach the retention screw to hold the memory access panel in place. |
| 26. | Reattach the power cord. |
| 27. | Turn your computer over so that the top of the computer faces up, open the LCD panel and turn the computer's power on. |
| 28. | Perform a complete Power On Self Test (POST) to verify the memory integrity.
