The following MPC Computer notebook systems have had Windows Vista™ installed on them and checked for basic functionality.

Disclaimer: Please review your warranty that came with your computer to understand the MPC Computers policy regarding operating system upgrades. MPC Computers provides the following information as a courtesy to their customers and does not provide Vista specific drivers and does not provide technical support for non MPC Computers-certified Windows Vista Capable notebook PCs that are upgraded to Windows Vista by using an unapproved process. MPC Computers recommends that customers install Windows Vista and then visit the Windows Update site to download and install any driver updates that are available.

MPC Computers has attempted to assure that all information is as complete and accurate as possible. However, additional driver revisions and update may have be provided by Microsoft and/or hardware vendors since the time that these lists have been compiled.

TransPort® GX3

• All Windows Vista™ drivers except for the ATI M7 graphics device, TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and ESS Maestro3 PCI Audio (WDM) audio device are native*.
• The Standard VGA Graphics Adapter driver provided by Microsoft only allows resolutions up to 1024x768x32 colors.
• ATI does not support and/or provide a driver for the Intel® ATI M7 graphics chipset.
• Updated drivers for the Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection are provided by Intel. Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• There are not any Vista drivers available at this time for the ESS Maestro3 PCI Audio (WDM) audio device. This device will not function properly in the Windows Vista operating system.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T1000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the ATI M7 graphics device, TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and ORiNOCO Mini PCI Card device are native*.

TransPort® T1200

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the Smart Link 56K Modem device, TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, and Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• Updated drivers for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection device are provided by Intel.
• The Smart Link 56K Modem device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T1300

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio device and Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are native*.
• MPC Computers provides updated vendor drivers on the Support web site. Vista Drivers

TransPort® T2000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and ORiNOCO Mini PCI Card device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• The ORiNOCO Mini PCI Card device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T2100

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and Easy Start Button device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• The Easy Start Button device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T2200

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device and Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T2300

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and SigmaTel C-Major Audio device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 device are provided by ATI.
• Updated drivers for the Intel® 915PM Chipset device and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection device are provided by Intel.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• Updated drivers for the Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet device are provided by Broadcom.
• The SigmaTel C-Major Audio device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® T3000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and SmartLink 56K Voice Modem device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series device are provided by ATI.
• Updated drivers for the Intel PRO/1000 MT Network Connection device and Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection device are provided by Intel.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• The SmartLink 56K Voice Modem device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 5.1 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional. However, Protector Suite QL 5.6 does function properly with this notebook with the exception of any BIOS password support.

• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• Updated drivers for the Realtek High Definition Audio Device are provided by Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional. However, Protector Suite QL 5.6 does function properly with this notebook with the exception of any BIOS password support.

TransPort® T3200

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, Intel Trusted Platform Module, and Realtek High Definition Audio Device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 device are provided by ATI.
• Updated drivers for the Intel 945GM chipset device, Intel PRO/1000 PM Network Connection device and Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection device are provided by Intel.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• Updated drivers for the Realtek High Definition Audio Device are provided by Realtek Semiconductor Corp. With the Realtek High Definition Audio device, the following situations are present. The onboard microphone is functional. However, the customer may experience low volume or intermittent crackling (feedback) during playback. The audio chip on the TransPort T3200 does not support a new audio jack detection feature available within the Windows Vista operating system. This new detection feature allows you to plug in devices and associate them to the correct device in the pop-up wizard. Since this detection feature is unavailable, all devices plugged in will not be recognized and will operate within a Stereo Mode (ex. 5.1 or 7.1 capabilities will not be available). To clarify, analog and onboard speakers will function within the Stereo Mode, however SPDIF does not function. If the customer uses the 3000 Series Port replicator, audio playback through the audio jack is low. Analog SPDIF sound functions properly as well as the headphone jack, however the Optical SPDIF does not produce sound.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 5.2 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional. However, Protector Suite QL 5.6 does function properly with this notebook with the exception of any BIOS password support.
• There are not any Vista drivers available at this time for the Intel® Trusted Platform Module. This device will not function properly in the Windows Vista operating system.

TransPort® U1000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the AC 97 SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection device are provided by Intel.
• The AC 97 SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.

TransPort® V1000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device and Easy Start Button are native*.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• The Easy Start Button device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.

TransPort® V2000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, HSP56 MR-8640L modem device, and Easy Start Button are native*.
• Updated drivers for the Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device are provided by Synaptics.
• The HSP56 MR-8640L modem device and Easy Start Button device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.

TransPort® X1000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Agere Systems AC'97 Modem device, and National Semiconductor Corp. DP83815/816 10/100 MacPhyter PCI Adapter device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device are provided by UPEK.
• The Agere Systems AC'97 Modem device, and National Semiconductor Corp. DP83815/816 10/100 MacPhyter PCI Adapter device requires the XP driver due to the fact that there are not any functioning Vista drivers available from Microsoft and/or the vendor at this time.
• In addition, the Protector Suite QL 4.3.1 software does not function in Windows Vista so the fingerprint scanner is not functional.

TransPort® X3000

• All Windows Vista drivers except for the TouchChip Fingerprint Reader device, Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad device, and SmartLink 56K Voice Modem device are native*.
• Updated drivers for the ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series device are provided by ATI.

* Windows Vista drivers listed as native may require that during the Windows Vista installation, automatic updating be enabled so that the latest device drive can be downloaded from the Windows Update website after installation. Additional hardware components installed into the system may require separate device drivers from the base configurations.
